Exceptionally Crafted Custom Doors & Millwork

Brandywine Grove

The Vision

At Brandywine Grove—a unique, high-end rental property combining a main residence with an attached underground “bunker” suite—builder David Graber turned to Rockwood for a series of custom doors that would match the project’s ambitious, playful spirit while delivering a refined finish. From hidden passageways to striking entry doors, the project was an ideal opportunity to showcase Rockwood’s ability to help designers bring truly unique visions to life.

The Build

Rockwood’s work on Brandywine Grove spanned multiple spaces, each requiring its own approach. Inside the underground tunnel, a stone-clad hidden door was engineered to disappear seamlessly into the surrounding masonry. To achieve the right clearances for the thick stone cladding while maintaining smooth operation, the team designed a heavy-duty pivot door capable of handling the weight without sacrificing the illusion of invisibility.

At the entry to the underground suite, Rockwood crafted an arched walnut door that sets a high-end rustic tone for the space. Inside, simple interior door designs were elevated with arched panel detailing, bringing additional warmth and architectural interest. Across each element, Rockwood’s blend of precise engineering and craftsmanship brought character and quality to this distinctive project.
