This luxury residence called for something rare: interior doors that felt refined, yet embraced the natural irregularity of Pecky Cypress—a wood known for its soft spots and scattered voids. The challenge wasn’t just visual—it was structural.
We used Clear Cypress for the rails and stiles to create a strong, stable frame, then double-layered each Pecky Cypress panel to maintain privacy and integrity without patching or filling the natural holes. The waterfall panel layout allowed the grain to flow uninterrupted, but it also required precise sequencing—each cut had to line up cleanly across multiple doors.
The result is both subtle and striking: a full suite of doors that feel cohesive and custom, while letting the character of the material speak for itself.
At Rockwood, we listen first, ask questions, and then create custom pieces that fit your needs. Ready to get started?
