This pass-through pool house window looks simple from the outside, but behind it is careful design, smart hardware choices, and precise installation.
The poolhouse designer wanted a clean look—something that felt more like a window than an accordion door. At the same time, it needed to function as a reliable, easy-to-use pass-through that could handle regular use.
We used Sipo, a tropical hardwood that takes finish well and holds up in exterior applications. For the folding mechanism, we sourced specialized hardware from Centor that would operate smoothly while preserving the look of the space, then designed the door to incorporate it in a cost-effective way. We also spent time in CAD, sketching out the details to verify every pivot point and track location before fabrication began.
Installation was critical. The folding system required precise drilling into the countertop for the lower pivots, and close coordination with the builder ensured the field conditions matched the shop drawings.
In the end, strong collaboration, careful material choices, and exacting installation came together to create a pass-through window that feels effortless for the homeowner.
